Heidi Iwanski, M.D.



Background

Dr. Heidi Iwanski graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 2000. She interned at the University of Minnesota, with her psychiatric residency at Hennepin County-Regions Residency in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. She practiced as an outpatient psychiatrist from 2006-2010 in the Minneapolis area and worked as an emergency room psychiatrist in Minneapolis from 2001-2010. Her practice involves psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological management and psychotherapy. Her practice philosophy is primarily based on forming a strong patient doctor alliance, coming to a working agreement on what problems can be changed or relieved, and a clear understanding of the role of medications and non medical treatments in effecting that change. In addition to medication, she makes use of cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, supportive, and psychodynamic approaches, depending upon the specific needs of the patient.
